Remote access to the Drill computer

Thursday, 24 July 2014 23:04 Published in Documentation

Step by step explanation, how to get the remote access to the Drill computer.

NOTE: The described method of connection is valid for 29.07.2004 and can be changed for subsequent versions of the equipment. The changes can be made without additional notification to the customers by the developer.

STEP 1 - Turning on the Drill computer

The computer must be mounted on the drill and connected to the corresponding cable.

Turn on the power and wait until the operating system boot up and the drill interface is loaded.

STEP 2 - Set the WiFi connection with the Drill computer

You have to see  the main screen of the Drill Interface.

Open the list of available WiFi connections on your PC or your laptop ...
The connection what we are looking for may not appear immediately but after some time - 30-90 sec.

You may be asked to enter a password to establish this connection.

After entering the password and press the OK button take a look at the monitor mounted on the drill ...

At this stage it is necessary to clarify that a connection does not mean that your computer can communicate with a computer on a drillIn this network doesn't exist any DHCP server and therefore the IP address of your computer can be randomly selected.
Such of a situation does not suit us, and as the next step we need
to execute couple commands what are prepared in this LockIP.BAT file.

Download the file and run it under Administrator profile on your PC or laptop. Then the STEP 2 can be considered complete.

NOTE: Executing of the LockIP.BAT file set the fixed IP address on your computer. That can lead to difficulties, when later you will try to connect to some regular WiFi networks. So, at the end of the work with Drill computers I will strongly recommended to execute an UnLockIP.BAT file that will release your IP address and allow to use any available DHCP servers.

STEP 3 - Get the full remote control.

Run the LiteManager application on your PC or your laptop. If you have not installed this software, you can download the installation package from this link - LiteManager Installation

Click on the  icon "plus" to create a new connection and fill out the form according to the example given below.

Name of connection: on your choice - you can call "Uncle Sam's boots" but will be better to use a more descriptive name "McDrill2".

IP address: The IP value must to be the same like is displayed on the main screen of the computer mounted on the drill.

Password: "mcdrill15"

Now to get the remote control of the drill computer you just have to double click on the icon of the created connection.

The connection between the computers may be different depending on the tasks.
In our case we need to get full control of the remote computer and use the keyboard on our PC or laptop to operate it.

Good luck !!
